About
An eclipse of ominous beauty, this mask is enlivened by the expressive features of the sun and moon. The Inca regarded themselves as children of the sun, for he protected and offered guidance. The moon, on the other hand, indicated the right time to prepare the land, sow the seeds and harvest the fruits of the earth. Ronald Franco crafts the piece of copper and bronze and treats the faces to a galvanized bath, achieving the distinct green finish.

Meet the artist
What I want to convey with my art is everything that the ancient Peruvian cultures have left for the world. I want everyone to know about the great artisans and creators they were.
Latest Update:
"I have been part of the Novica team since 2002, where we share a unique sense of family warmth and camaraderie. Thanks to my art, I have achieved family stability and provided education for my children.
"Over the years, I have experienced many changes, and I have worked with different types of metals. I have perfected my work with copper and bronze materials, adding silver applications to enhance certain products. Always creating and innovating. Along the way, I have faced many challenges, such as equipping my workshop with all the necessary tools to work with different metals and finishing techniques. My workshop has evolved thanks to the great reception of my products and their cultural significance. Each piece carries a deep meaning and holds a place in Peru's history.
"I have had the satisfaction of reaching both admirers of Peruvian art and working on projects for the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Production, such as crafting decorative medals in gold and silver, and trophies for the best artisans in Peru.
"Working with Novica has given me the satisfaction of gaining recognition for my work worldwide and connecting with customers from other countries who appreciate the art and culture of Peru. I am proud that my work has allowed me to visit different countries and learn from diverse cultures. I have traveled to countries such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Bolivia, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, and Israel.
"My immediate goal is to achieve the recognition of Grand Master bestowed by the Ministry of Production. It is an honor that has been proposed to me, but I have not yet realized it. Afterwards, I would like to become a promoter of my artisan experience for others.
"I would like to thank all my customers for embracing my products, which I create with great care for your satisfaction. It is an art that fills me with pride, and I hope it will not be lost in the future."
Original Artisan Story:
"I started this world when I got married very young and had to start working on my own; I did all this without my family knowing, and when they found out, they kicked me out of the house, and that's when I started working at an acquaintance's workshop. When when I got kicked out of the house, I didn't have any tools or anything, and the person who helped me tremendously was a very close friend who provided me with great support.
"I describe my art as a way to express all my effort and dedication to my family; I started working to provide everything for my family, and I'm still doing it. What motivates me to create my art is the desire to learn more about the heritage that our ancestors have left us. I have always enjoyed learning about my culture and my ancestors. What I want to convey with my art is everything that the ancient Peruvian cultures have left for the world. I want everyone to know about the great artisans and creators they were. For me, this art means a lot in my life; it is the support of my family and my passion at the same time.
"One of my favorite hobbies is traveling; getting to know my own country as well as other countries and cultures.
"To Novica's customers, I would like to say thank you very much for supporting artisans and for appreciating creations made entirely by hand. I send you a big hug, and may God bless you."
